Mechanical Engineer (5+ years of experience)

  • Design new parts and equipment for agricultural applications
  • Contribute ideas for new designs and products
  • Analyze current designs and products and develop improvements or new products
  • Support R&D projects with research, calculation, design, and analysis
  • Use FEA to ensure strength and functionality of framing and supports
  • Perform engineering calculations
  • Ensure design for manufacturability
  • Research, spec, and order parts for projects and equipment
  • Support and manage warranty when needed
  • Create and write shop manufacturing instructions including 2D and CAD engineering drawings
  • Create and track bills of materials for projects
  • Manage projects from initial concept through field implementation
  • Solidworks 3D and 2D modeling experience is a must
  • Solidworks Simulation tools experience is a plus
  • Ability to use a computer, Microsoft office, email, and other similar programs is a must
  • Standard shop fabrication knowledge or experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of farm equipment and harvesting methods is a plus
  • Bachelors degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience in equipment design is a must
  • Knowledge of the product development process
  • Self motivated and driven
  • Able to handle and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Ability to travel to assist with field support, warranty, testing, or setup (<5%)

Design Engineer / Draftsman (Entry Level - 2+ years of experience)

  • Design new parts and equipment for agricultural applications
  • Contribute ideas for new designs and products

  • Use FEA to ensure strength and functionality of framing and supports

Shop Foreman / Production Manager

  • Establish shop and manufacturing procedures
  • Establish production procedures
  • Contribute to design and offer improvements
  • Assist with in-field installs, research, and gather improvement data and ideas – travel may be required (5% travel time possible)
  • Support R&D fabrication, manufacturing, and planning
  • Set up parts inventory area and organization
  • Set up and manage shop consumable materials storage and organization
  • Hire and manage shop floor employees
  • Initiate and manage safety training and programs

 

  • Manager experience required
  • Knowledge and ability to write and manage JSA procedures
  • Must be able to accurately use measurement tools
  • Read, understand, follow, and communicate job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders
  • Ability to read written machining instructions and fabrication drawings
  • Able to set up and operate fabricating machines
  • Able to safely drive a fork lift – training can be provided
  • Experience in machining and welding carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum is a plus
  • Experience in shop management software is a plus
  • Must be able to use a computer, including Microsoft office, email, and other programs
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and occasional weekend shifts if needed
  • Willingness to work alongside shop employees if needed
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Must be organized
  • Dependable and able to work independently and as a team
  • Motivated and able to make decisions and keep production moving forward
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Must be willing to comply with Formation Ag’s company policies

Welder /Manufacturer / Fabricator

Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience (preferred)
  • Must be organized
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and occasional weekend shifts
  • Good manual dexterity and the ability to read written welding instructions.
  • Be able to work independently and be depended upon by upper management
  • Welding experience for the following preferred: GTAW, SMAW, GMAW
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders
  • Must be safety-conscious
  • Must be able to accurately use measuring tools
  • The employee must be punctual
  • Set up and safely operate fabricating machines such as CNC breaks, shears, flame cutters, grinder, ironworker, drill press, saws, and CNC plasma cutter
  • Use overhead crane in a safe manner
  • Safely drive and operate a forklift as necessary
  • Welding certifications and/or ability to certify in D1.1, B31.1, and B31.3 in all positions is a plus.
  • Experience in welding carbon steel (required), stainless steel and aluminum is a plus.
  • Must be willing to comply with Formation Ag’s company policies
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated and hardworking

Assembly

Qualifications:

  • Must be organized
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and occasional weekend shifts
  • Good manual dexterity and the ability to read written instructions and drawings
  • Be able to work independently and be depended upon by upper management
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders
  • Must be safety-conscious
  • Must be able to accurately use measuring tools
  • The employee must be punctual
  • Set up and safely operate hand tools and equipment including hand drills, grinders, hammer drills, etc.
  • Use overhead crane in a safe manner
  • Safely drive and operate a forklift as necessary
  • Must be willing to comply with Formation Ag’s company policies
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated and hardworking

Machinist

Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience (preferred)
  • Must be organized
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and occasional weekend shifts
  • Good manual dexterity and the ability to read written machining instructions and drawings
  • Be able to work independently and be depended upon by upper management
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders
  • Must be safety-conscious
  • Must be able to accurately use measuring tools
  • The employee must be punctual
  • Set up and safely operate fabricating machines such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, drill presses, etc.
  • Use overhead crane in a safe manner
  • Safely drive and operate a forklift as necessary
  • Experience in machining welding carbon steel (required), stainless steel, plastics, and aluminum is a plus
  • Must be willing to comply with Formation Ag’s company policies
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated and hardworking
